Brady’s Bits:

1. I loved Dr. Katz. So much. 
2. It still stands up. Still hilarious. 
3. It’s the drop-dead funniest stuff comics like Ray Romano and Barry Sobel ever did.
4. Since Day 1, this is exactly the only way I could ever see YLNT being made visual. I still wish that could happen. 
5. Dom Irrera is one of the most under-appreciated comics of our time. 

Dr. Katz was formative viewing for me and triggers a lot of fond memories, my childhood neighbor and friend Pete being chief among them. We would watch episode after episode on VHS over at his house while his father sulked around the top floor in his underwear (we called him “Sad Dad”— behind his back at first, but later to his face). They always smelled like Chinese ribs, all of them; his mother took her design cues from the local Subway and they left their Christmas decorations up year-round. They had moved to my town from Cleveland.
